INGLESIDE HELD
Caledonian Society
The Wellington Caledonian Society held its monthly ingleside in the Allen Street Hall, with a large attendance of members and friends. Many members of the third echelon were also present. Oldtime and Scots dancing was enjoyed, Mr. A. Burnette being M.C. These were interspersed with songs. Mrs. G. Savage sang “The Len Rig” and "Hail Caledonia.” and Mrs. A. Edmonds “The Call of the Pipes” and “Ye Banks and Braes.” The Pipe Band played several selections, and Misses Joy Janass’on, Peggy McKinnon, Eileen Weaver, and Edna 'Whitelaw executed the foursome swords, Highland fling, and Irish reel. The accompanists were Mrs. McGowan and Mr. G. Savage, and Pipe-Major C. Balfour, and Piper L. McKinnon, accompanied the Highland dancing. Mr. A. B. McWhinnie conveyed good wishes to members of the third echelon, and referred to Piper W« Smith's place with tlie forces. He also stated that Drum-Major D. Stewart had been accepted for the Air Force, and had received orders to proceed to Harewood camp, and wished him the best of luck.
