BOOKMAKERS FINED

DUNEDIN, August. 21.
Fines totalling £5O were collected. in the Magistrates’ Court this morning when Spcnsely Arthur Workman and Thomas Joseph Gray pleaded, guilty to charges of carrying on businesses as bookmakers on August 16. Tiie charges ■were heard before Mr. Bartholomew, S.M. Workman, who had two previous convictions, was fined £3O and costs, and Gray £2O and costs.
