GUARANTEED PRICE
Dairy Farmers Want
Increase
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING. August 21.
“The guaranteed price to dairyfarmers should bo increased,” said Mr. C. G. C. Dernier, chairman of Cheltenham Dairy Company, at the annual meeting last night. The farmer, ho said, had to bear increased costs and the recent increase of 5 per cent, in wages would filter down to the farmers. While it. was not the desire of dairymen to increase the cost of produce to England in her hour of trial, it was essential that the guaranteed payment be increased to put farmers on an equal standard of living as other sections of the community.
