TONIGHT’S WRESTLING

With the British Empire heavyweight professional wrestling title and silver eup presented by Sir Charles Norwood al. stake in a contest at Ihe Town Hall tonight between Sergeant-Major Lofty Blomlield, New Zealand champion and outstanding drawing card, and John Katan, Alberta, who took the Empire championship from Earl McCready, the mat sport will have the most, memorable occasion in its history so far as Wellington is concerned. Blomfield Ims made some determined bids to win the title from McCready, and has more Ilian once gone close to success. The transfer of the litle from McCready to Katan has given him new hopes of gaining his ambition for. though Katan' has beaten McCready, it. is still conceivable that Blomtield has better prospects of beating the new champimi than Hie old. It. is purely a mailer of styles and tactics, and evidence has been given that Blomfield has already come closer to beating Katan than he was able Io get against McCready. Blomlield has set his heart on winning tonight, not only because of the honours to be won, but also because he wants the satisfaction of having bis revenge for the reverse inflicted on him by Katan earlier in the season. His well-known aggression will be at. ils fiercest, and something is bound to happen in those circumstances. Amuh-ur and professional preliminaries will start gt 8 o’clock.
