'The long spell of dry weather in the Victorian wheat areas has bad a devastating effect on the crops. The Premier, Mr. Dunstan, on his return from a tour of inspection,, said only tr miracle can give Victoria a reasonable crop. •“I’li(> prospects are very blue.” said Mr. Dunstan. "1 have not seen a really pi'otni.s 1 tig crop. They are just coming up in patches and those patelies look miserable. The big area prepared for late cropping is unlikely to be planted ;it nil.” The dry weather was also likely to affect the lamb export and wool elip. Early, lamlis were siunted and might have to l>e carried as stores. Mr. Dunsi an added.
