CURFEW ORDERED ON SUSSEX BEACHES
LONDON, July 2. The military commander of West Sussex has ordered a continuous curfew henceforth along . the beaches from Brighton to Worthing. An order has been issued which automatically prohibits all bathing. ARMY ENROLMENT Further Acceleration In Britain (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 2. Informing the House of Commons that all men registered for military service up to the end of May had now been called up with the exception of a few special categories, the War Minister, Mr. Eden, said that the intake was being further accelerated and Ihis would apply to those age groups now registering. He declined to accept a suggestion by a member, who believed that a seaborne invasion of Britain on a serious scale was a remote contingency, that the policy in respect of enrolment for military training should be reviewed.
UNION’S REQUEST
Removal From Office Of Certain Politicians LONDON, July The National Union of Railwaymen unanimously passed a resolution requesting that members of the Cabinet and other imp-sous in high office who were associated witli the previous Government’s policy of appeasement should immediately be removed from office. The resolution added: “A deputation should visit Mr. Churchill and obtain his answer."
Mr. A. Paton, of Edinburgh, in moving the resolution, said: “I fear our Fifth Columnists who are still in positions of power. I want Ibis gang to be placed in a position from which they cannot betray tlie country as
