SLAYER NOT STARTING IN STEEPLES Excellent acceptances were received for the first day of the Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting, to be held on Tuesday, Thursday, ami Saturday, next week. The total, 154, is only five less than the record last July. xY notable absentee from the principal event, the Wellington Steeplechase, in which 11 accepted, is Slayer.
