Recent Recruits’ First Parade In Hastings ENTHUSIASM FOR WORK Dominion Special Service Hastings, June 25. Enthusiasm Cor their work Is shown by infantrymen who have enlisted with the Territorial Force in Hastings. Last night recent recruits paraded for the first time, having been called up for training purposes toward the end of last week. Their calling-up new .foreshadows the raising of the establishment from peacetime strength, as it exists at present, to wartime strength. This move was announced as one of the decisions of the recently-formed War Council. The new colonel of the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, Colonel Jefferd, visited the parade. Colonel Jefferd is a former Indian Army man. A five-mile route march wilt be undertaken bv four platoons of Class H of the Military Reserve in Hastings on Thursday night.
