Dealings in French francs are suspended. NEW YORK, June 17. Stocks broke by 1 to 5 points on the announcement of tho French peace proposal. Bids then rallied sharply on the belief that the United States defence orders would take up whatever slack might be entailed by the elimination of France as a purchaser. Wheat lost over two cents a bushel, but the market closed at over three cents above the lowest levels readied during the day.
