Changeable In The East; Elsewhere Fair To Fine Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office, 'Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. today:— ■Weather.—Still changeable in eastern districts south of East Cape with occasional showers, specially in the Hawke s Bay-I overty Bay area, bn gradually improving. Elsewhere mainly fair to fine. Temperatures cold with some sharp frosts, specially in the south. General Situation.—A depression is located east of Auckland and « dee P®* °“® to the south ofChatham Islands. Pressure is very high over the western Tasman Sea. . Forecast.—Winds: South-westerly to southerly prevailing; strong in exposed positions from Marlborough northward but decreasing, and o• he rwise mainly moderate in force. Seas (New Zealand waters) : Rough, but yad uallv decreasing north of Farewell Spit, south of East Cape and about Cook Strait, elsewhere slight or moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: from a south-westerly quarter; strong butgradually decreasing in the northern por tion with rough seas, moderate in the southern portion with moderate seas.
