GIFTS TO PATRIOTIC FUNDS
Olympic Association After a discussion in committee, a decision to donate £5OO to the Government’s War Fund and £5OO to the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund of the Red Cross and Order of St. John was reached at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Olympic and British Empire Gaines Association. In moving the adoption of the annual report, the chairman, Mr. H. McCormack, said that the holding of the next Empire Games in Canada in 1912 appeared to 'be a good deal in the lap of the gods. The financial statement showed a healthy position and the income should accrue considerably because it did not appear that there would be any use for the funds for at least another two years. The election of officers for the coming year resulted: Patron, the Gover-nor-General, Lord Galway; vice-patron, the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers: president, the Prime Minister, ■ Mr. Fraser; vice-presidents, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, Messrs. R. S. Giendining, J. Hobbs, A. T. Davies, and the presidents of affiliated national associations; hon. auditor, Mr. J. T. Turner, F.P.A, N.Z.; chairman, Mr. H. McCormick, U.JJ.; hon. secretary-treasur-er, Mr. H. Amos, F.A.I.S.
