10 Per Cent. Increase Sought Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH, May 11. A lit per eeui. increase in wages io offset the higher cost of living, with a provision that there should be :i revision of wage rales after every six months Io meet, any further increase in living costs, and a reduction in the working day from eight to seven hours, are among the conditions, sought by miners in a new agreement, for which negotiations are now in progress, according to Mr. A. McLagan, national secretary of the Untied Mine Workers of New Zealand. A second conference between the mine owners and millers’ representatives will lie held in Wellington nit Wednesday to discuss an agreement for the coal miners of New Zealand.
