When hunting goats nine miles up the Moki Road, a 17-year-old youth, Donald Clifford Valentine, tripped and dropped his gun which exploded, the bullet entering his chest. Tiie injured youth hail a trying ordeal, for the accident occurred in the bush where be had to be left while his companion went two miles for help. When a.party arrived it was dark, and it. was necessary to carry Valentine two miles over rough country before a car cbulil be reached. He is in New Plymouth Hospital and it is reported Hint his condition is satisfactory.
