Annual Meeting Of Foxton Plunket Society
The bi-monthly meeting of the Foxton branch of the Plunket Society was held recently, the president, Mrs. S. E. Crawford, occupying, the chair. Also present were Mesdames D. Christie, W. Trueman, E. Thane, D. It. Ogilvy and D. R. Barron (secretary). At the conclusion of the meeting, the eighteenth annual meeting of the society was held ami was attended by Mesdames Crawford, Trueman, Thane, Ogilvy and Barron. Mrs. Trueman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, complimented the society on its sound financial position, and expressed pleasure at the increased number ol babies-nnd their mothers visiting the nurse during the year. Regret was expressed at the resignation of Mrs. D. R. Ogilvy, who had been a foundation member of the committee and who bad 18 years’ service The resignation was accepted with regret, Mesdames Trueman and Barron speaking in eulogistic terms of the faithful services given by Mrs. Ogilvy over a long period of years. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: Patron, Dr. S. E. Crawford; president, Mrs. A. T. Nichols; vice-presidenhs, Mesdames'Truemiin and Christie; committee, Mesdames Thane, Crawford, Veale and Marchant; secretary-treasurer, Mrs. D. R. Barron; auditor, Mr. W. Trueman; advisory board, Dr. Crawford, Messrs. Christie and M. B. Bergin; delegates, Mesdames Crawford, Trueman and Barron; trustees P.O. 5.8., Mesdames Trueman, Christie and Barron. Mrs. Trueman expressed the committee’s appreciation of the capable manner in which the retiring president., Mrs. Crawford, bad carried out her duties during her term of office for the past two years.
