The question of whether the usual King’s Birthday tournament should be held was discussed, as since it is a Monday now many players go away for the weekend. It was decided to hold the tournament us usual under the same conditions.

The Hutt Valley association is to be invited to send two teams to piny senior B and third grade teams in Wellington on August 3. The first grade team will be selected from senior A players who have.not represented a province before 1938. Because of the help of J. Mitehell, J. King, J. Bowe, and U. Chamberlain, in practising for representative teams, it was decided that these players should definitely be members of the team. The team will travel to Auckland and, if possible, will also play in the Rotorua tournament.

As an experiment it was decided to try playing games at 1.30 p.m. sharp, and play each game with a live-minute interval, instead of having 20 minutes. 'This will begin on May 25. Ground stewards reported that a large number of players were wearing jewellery, and. it was decided that referees should take particular notice of this.
