MORE ITALIANS CALLED UP
Latest Declarations UNFRIENDLY TONE CONTINUED By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received April 29, 11.10 p.m.) ROME, April 29. Italy has called up the 1906 class of reservists, and four other classes arc to be called up soon. Signor Gayda in the “Voce d’ltalia” accuses the Allies of inspiring a Slovene manifesto which demanded the return of Trieste to Yugoslavia. [Trieste, which was in Yugoslavia when the latter was part of the Austrian Empire, was ceded to Italy after the Great War.] ROME. April 28. Signor Ansaldo, director of the newspaper “Il Telegrafo,” in a broadcast to Italian troops, said:— “Germany now has more than 80,000 troops in Norway. We soldiers of Italy, while doing full justice and honour to the valour of the Allied soldiers, hope and trust that the Germans will win.” Signor Mussolini in a speech in the Chamber of Fascists confirmed that Italy cannot remain indefinitely out of the conflict.
