Position Of Importers With Commitments In reply to a request for clarification of the position of importers under the recently announced restrictions applying to “black” exchange, the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand has now received the following advice from the Minister of Finance. “The Government fully appreciates the point which you have raised as to the position of persons who have entered into certain commltments beiore the regulations came into force, and who now desire to complete the transactions involved. The problem had m fact already been recognized, aud I am at present investigating ways and means of overcoming such difficulties on an equitable basis. A public statement regarding the matter will be made at an early date.”
