Viscount Galway’s Term Extended APPROVAL GRANTED BY THE KING The term of Viscount Galway as Governor-General of New Zealand has been extended to February of next year. This is the second extension of his Excellency’s 'term of office. His normal five-year term expired this mouth, but it was announced in January that the King had approved an extension of six mouths. The following official notice of a further extension was issued last night:— “His Majesty the King has been pleased to approve of the extension ’till February, 1941, of the term of office of Colonel the Right Honourable Viscount Galway, P. 0., G.C.M.G., D. 5.0., 0.8. E., as Gov-ernor-General of New Zealand.”
