Dominion Special Service. NAPIER, April 27. Sergeant-Major H. K. Heiford, a former resident, of'Napier trnd recvutly of Gisborne, has gained tlie distinction of being the first member of tlie Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force Overseas lo be decorated. The presentation was made by tlie Officer in Commaud when lhe battalion was on parade in Cairo, the award being a bar for his Efficiency Medal earned through his completion of 18 years’ service with the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Sergeant-Major Heiford was a member of the New Zealand contingent which represented tlie Dominion at the Coronation of King George VI.
