COPPER MINE DISPUTE
Commission In Rhodesia (British Official Wirek-s-s.) RUGBY. April 25. The Industrial Secretary announced that the House of Commons inquiry into the recent industrial dispute in the copper belt, Northern Rhodesia, would be conducted by Sir John Forster as chairman of the Commission. The dispute and the disturbances which are the subject of the inquiry arc file result of an incident on April 4. [Fourteen natives were killed and 20 wounded on April 4 when troops fired on strikers at a copper mine in Hie Nkana concession, in Luangwa district, Northern Rhodesia. After suffering 14 casualties from stone-throwing and failing to disperse the rioters with tear gas. troops fired a few rounds. This being without result, they continued firing. Troops were dispatched from Bulawago to Nkana.J
