Appeals By Churches (Received April 18, 8.30 p.m.) VATICAN CITY, April IS. The Pope lias appealed to Catholics throughout tbe world for special prayers for peace throughout May. LONDON. April 17. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Moderator of the General Assembly of Hie Church of Scotland, and the Aloderator of the Federal Council of the Evangelical Free Churches have jointly appealed for special prayers on Whit Sunday. .May 12, for the overthrow of Hie rule of force, so that truth, mercy, freedom and justice may be established, paving the way for everlasting peace.
