German planes bombed and sank a British cruiser off the Norwegian coast, and hit two others so heavily that it i.s doubtful whether they can reach a British port. LONDON, April 17.

The German High Command states: “A submarine sank a destroyer of the Tribal class in the Shetlands. Our air force attacked naval units and sank a submarine and a cruiser 95 miles north of Molde Fiord, and also registered two hits with heavy bombs on a large transport. Lockheed, Hurricane ami Sunderland planes were shot down. One of our machines has not returned.”
