CRICKET JUBILEE
Kilbirnie Club’s Plans For Weekend The Kilbirnie Cricket Club, which was founded! in 1890, will celebrate its jubilee this week. Tomorrow, at 2.15 p.m., members ot the club will assemble at the pavilion and will attend the opening of Kilbirnie Park by the mayor of Wellington, Mr. Hislop. Certificates won by the club during the past season will be presented, and afternoon tea will be served. At 6.30 tomorrow night the club will hold its jubilee dinner at the Exhibition Hotel. On Sunday morning members will hold a church parade at the Hataitai Methodist Church, Waitoa Hoad. The service will be conducted by a member of the club, the Bev. E. O. I’damires. The jubilee celebrations will conclude with a dance in the Hex Hall. Kilbirnie Orescent, on the night of Saturday, April 27. The club is issuing a jubilee souvenir booklet, which should be o£ great interest to followers of the game, partmuiariy iu Kilbirnie, ami it. is hoped to have it ready for sale during the celebrations.
