MR. LEE’S EXPULSION

Reported Attitude Of Watersiders The recent expulsion of Mr. J. A. Lee from the New Zealand Labour Party was considered at a stop-work meeting of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Waterside Workers’ Federation on Wednesday. It was stated subsequently that a motion was put to the meeting to the effect that the branch withdraws its delegates to the Wellington Labour Representation Committee as a protest against the expulsion of Mr. Lee. Ihis motion was said to have been defeated “by a small majority.” An amendment that the meeting make an emphatic)protest against the expulsion of Mr. Lee from the Labour Party, with the direction that the resolution be handed to the Press, was carried by a large majority, it was further stated.
