The outstanding athlete was C. A. Halliday (Can-terbury), who. running into the wind, did tile 120 yards hurdles in 15 4-ssec„ equalling the record, and the 220 yards in 27sec., taking a whole second off the record. D. Shaw (Canterbury), winner ot both the imlf-niile and the mile, set a new record of 4min. 35 3-ssec. for the mile. R. C. Brown, Canterbury schoolboy walker, covered the mile in entiu. 1-1 1-5 see., which is claimed as an Empire junior record.
