Congregational Assembly’s Support Dominion Special Service. HASTINGS, March 16. Support for the National Patriotic Fund providing comforts for soldiers is given in a resolution by the Congregatiomii Assembly of New Zealand, which also recommends all ils churches to take up retiring collections for this purpose, preferably in May. Oilier resolutions were: — "We believe personal purity aud social service go hand in hand. We therefore commend steps taken for the abolition of abortion and the limitation of tlie use of contraceptives so tliat the population of Now Zealand may achieve natural progress both in numbers ami in tlie standard of living. "We support tlie efforts of the Government and local committees to extend hospitality to refugees so sadly driven from hearth and home. IVe pledge ourselves to befriend such strangers within our gates ami, in so far as we are able, to help them to become self-supporting and useful citizens of our community.”
