FORMER PROFESSORS

Victoria College Tribute A motion, moved by tile chairman, Dr. T. D. M. Stout, was adopted by the Council of Victoria University College at. its meeting last night, expressing sympathy with the relatives of the late Professor Hugh Mackenzie, former professor of English at the college, and putting on record its deep appreciation of (lie work Professor Mackenzie, one of the original professors, had given to the college. The College Students' Association forwarded £3O for the purpose of a memorial Io the laic Professor James Adamson, former professor of law. Tile principal, Professor Sir Thomas Hunter, said the suggestion was that books on subjects in which the late Professor Adamson was very much interested should be bought and, with special plates in them, placed in the college library. “That would be a very suitable memorial,” he said. Dr. Stout saiil he thought, it would provide a very fine memorial. The students’ association gift was accepted with thanks.
