Wellington Market Steady KEEN BUYING INTEREST Business opened quietly on the Wellington Stock Exchange yesterday, the turnover being small. There was, however, a good tone in the market, with lairl.v strong buying interest. There was a keen demand for Government loans at steady rates, but supplies were scarce, holders showing little interest. Bunks were quiet and little changed. Gas and insurance shares were firm. Interest in industrials was well maintained, prices generally showing little movement. Bonds Hosiery advanced to business at 27/-. N.Z. Refrigerating sold a shade better at 10/9. G. J. Gold Mining Returns The Barrytown dredge return for February was 11230 z.; 446 hours were Avofked and 159,000 yards were , ‘Y !ava . ■ The Kanieri return was 112 oz. lur 4bo hours worked and 255.000 yards were excavated. , ~ . The Arahura dredge return lor I'cbruary was 25670 z. for 555 hours worked and 372,000 yards excavated.
