RUGBY TOURS
New South Wales Inquiry By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 2. The New South Wales Rugby Union has asked the New Zealand Rugby Union whether it would like a team of Australians to tour that country during the season, or whether the New Zealand Union would prefer to send a team of All Blacks to Australia. Officials here consider that the international situation may influence tiie New Zealand union against an interchange of visits at this time, but it is thought that if a tour takes place the money taken could be given to the patriotic funds of both countries. Mr. H. Flegg. president of the New South Wales Rugby League and chairman of the Australian Board of Control. said: “Personally I consider the New Zealand League did the wisest thing in not accepting the invitation to send a team to Australia. There is considerable uncertainty about the international situation, and New Zealanders seem to look on the war differently from Australians and to be more intent on organizing for victory."
