The Alicetown branch of the Dominion Federation of Townswomen’s Guild held its first meeting of the year last week, presided over by the guild president, Airs. A’inseii. Airs. Furvinsson. who has recently returned from a visit abroad, gave an interesting talk on life in Rhodesia. The drama circle gave an entertaining play reading entitled, “Trifles.” Those taking part were Alesdames Bathurst, AlcGiilinn, AlcDougall, Simone and Kay. Tlie choir gave two items. The best flower- in the garden competition was won by Mrs. Sutton, and the monthly competition was won by Aliss Diir.fan.

Exhibition Cabaret. A record crowd visited tlie Exhibition Cabaret, on Saturday night, and many of tin- dancers were unable to obtain, tables. The music, as usual, was excellent and Iho floor seemed better than ever. Altogether, the dance was aecia lined as one of Ihe most successful to date. The Leap Aear Bull on Thursday is to he a purlieu hi rly outstanding event, and patrons should book their tables ns early as possible. Bi-ixdtl.vii Townswomen. The Brooklyn Townswomen’s Guild started its year’s activities recently, when Mrs. L. F. Smith presided over n good attendance. The speaker for the afternoon was Cajitnin Galloway, who gave an address fo the Red Cross organization. During the afternoon the guild donated it sum of money for material for sewing, which is being undertaken b.v sttild members for the Red Cross.
