Tlie Hon. F. Langstoue, Minister of Lands, returned to Wellington yesterday from the north.

Mr. S G. Holland, M.P, arrived at. Wellington by the steamer express from Hie South Island yesterday. Mr. G. Spence, who has been visiting Wellington, returned to Blenheim by air yesterday.

Mr. E. A. Rattray, Dunedin, arrived at Wellington by the steamer express yesterday.

Mr J. AV. A. Harris, of Bing, Harris and Co', Ltd., was a passenger from AVellington to Auckland by airliner yesterday.

Mr. H. Austad, a director of J. Hott, Ltd., returned to AA’ellington by the steamer express from the South Island yesterday.

Professor 11. G. Denham was a passenger for Wellington by the steamer express front the South Island yesterday.

Mr. N. Scheinwald, managing-director of New Film Distributors, Ltd., returned to Wellington by the Limited express from Auckland yesterday. Mr. AV. AV. Mulholland, Dominion president of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, arrived at AVellington by the steamer express from the South Island yesterday.

The lit. Rev. G. V. Gerard, Bishop of AVaiapu, who has been staying witli the Rev. 11. E. K. Fry, Lower Hutt, left last" night for Nelson to attend the General Synod of the Anglican Church. Mr. It. C. A'ance, of the South. Sea Evangelical Mission, lias arrived at AVellington to spend about six months’ leave from his work in the Solomon Islands. For part of the time lie will stay with his brother. Mr. G. F. Vauce. Wellington.

Mr. G. L. Wells, of the literary staff of “The Dominion,” who has been on an extended visit to Great Britain under the Empire Press Union journalists’ exchange scheme, has returned to AVellington, accompanied by Mrs. AVelis.

Mr AV. H. H. Gibson, a member of the council of the Institution of Engineers of Australia, has arrived in Wellington to attend the annual conference of the New Zealand Institution of Engineers, Io be held in Wellington from February 20 to 23. He will represent the president, of the Australian institution. Mr. John Wilson, Brisbane. The Ven. Archdeacon AV. Bullock was instituted Archdeacon of AVellington and Urn A'en. Archdeacon E. J. Rich. Archdeacon of the AVairarapa, by the Bishop of Wellington, Right Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, in the Cathedral Church of St. Paul last night. Archdeacon Bullock succeeds Archdeacon A. L. Hansell. who recently retired, and Archdeacon Rich succeeds Archdeacon Bullock to the Archdeaconry of the AVairarapa.
