Lower Hutt Ratepayer Jests, But Pays Among the genera! correspondence received ,'it last night's meeting of the Lower Hutt Borough Council was the following verse addressed to the town clerk Sirrrrr, — I got the note you sent to me. Your message on me grates. I shudder at the penally Of ten per cent, on rates. So lost. I get it in the neck I send, herewith, your bloomin’ rates. This unwonted note of humour in business caused many smiles round the council table.
