Wellington Sunday School Union The Wellington Sunday School Union began its activities for the year at a meeting held recently. The date of the annual meeting was altered from February to .May. The following officers elected at the meeting will hold office till May, 11)41 :—President, .Mr. 11. E. Brooker; vice-presidents, Misses Elliffe and Rice, Messrs. 11. A. Comber, A. H. Ivory, W. E. Howe, A. W. Reed, R. M. Bussell, H. D. Grocott and T. E. Iteyuolds; secretary, Mr. J. K. Purdie; treasurer, Mrs. Hansen; extension organizer, Mr, W. E. Howe; auditor, D. B. Brown.
Correspondence from the Auckland Sunday School Union revealed a desire to alter the basis of the examinations, substituting one series of lessons for the four used previously. It was decided to hold a special meeting to consider the whole question of examinations. The extension organizer, Mr. W. . E. Howe, reported on bis visit to the Maugamiiire Sunday school on the occasion of the anniversary services. The work of the union in beginning the Sunday schools in scattered and isolated districts is deeply appreciated by residents. This school has sent a probationary minister and a. home missionary to the Methodist Church during recent years. The Easter Convention will not be held this year as usual, but a gathering of Sunday school workers , will be held from April 25 (o 29, in conjunction with the Sunday school month.
