FURTHER COLD SNAP
Seas Frozen Near Denmark
A large part of North Europe is still in the grip of a severe cold spell, and the stretch of sea between Norway and Denmark is practically covered with ice.
The Danish Admiralty lias issued an order forbidding pedestrians from approaching tlie minefields off the Danish coast. This was necessary because people were walking over the frozen seas between Denmark and Sweden. Intense cold has made the fuel situation serious. The use of running water is forbidden, and a decree says that temperatures in houses must not exceed 64 degrees. It is hoped by these menus to save coni, as several coni shipments are jammed in the ice off the coast of Norway.—By radio.
