Here are the first photographs, taken from the ground, of the new German Messerschmitt fighter aeroplane—the Me. 110, referred to by Nazi propagandists as the "destroyer of the air." Machines of this type were sent up against British bombers which raided Heligoland in January. Though faster and more agile than the R.A.F. squadron they failed to break its tight formation.
