The Berlin correspondent of the “New York Times,” Mr. Tolischus, states that the German representations to the Vatican protesting against the Vatican broadcasts relating to Polish persecution '-re apparently part of a counter-campaign designed to discredit the reports, which are actually more copious and alarming in Germany than in outside countries. They arc brought, or sent by ollicmls or police, either deploring or boasting of the methods in Boland, but agreeing that want is happening is little less than national and racial extermination. The description of methods circulating in Germany is so appalling that only nn impartial investigation comd ever establish the (rutii, but few Germans doubt the aeciu.icy of the reports, especially since tr is known ra-:t Colonel-General Blaskouilz has protested nga.iist the mei.iods employ ■ 1. [Presumably the Colonel General Blaskowitz here referred to is a puppet Polish official of the Nazis in western Poland.]
