SCHOOL EXCURSIONS TO EXHIBITION
More Committees Discuss Proposals Dominion Special Service. PAHIATUA, January 31. Inquiries are to be made by the Pahiatna School Committee from the Railways Department regarding the practicability of arranging an excursion for the pupils of the Pahiatua District High School and other, schools in the district to lite Centennial Exhibition. The suggestion was brought forward at a meeting of tiie committee by tiie chairman, Mr. G. G. Taylor, who said it was an opportunity that came but once in a lifetime. Tiie idea was worth investigating. lie said, and in after years the chihlren would be able at least to say that tliev were there. . Tiie committee agreed to the chairman s suggestion to make inquiries from the Railways Department.
INQUIRIES IN WOODVILLE
WOODVILLE, January 31. A report from tiie headmaster of the Woodville District High School on a proposal to organize an excursion of pupils to the Centennial Exhibition is sou Hit by the committee. Tiie decision to obtaiii’a report followed a discussion on a letter from the 'Woodville Women’s Institute. which recommended that, the committee endeavour to arrange for all children to visit the Exhibition. The chairman, Mr. R. R. Johnston, said he did not think much could be done till the school resumed. The headmaster could then ascertain the number of children who had not already seen tiie Exhibition and report to the committee. The Rev. B P. Williams said the committee should at least make an effort to get the children to the Exhibition, even for only a day.
