REGENT THEATRE
The billed stars of "Yes, Aly Darling Daughter.” in the second week of a season at the Regent Theatre, are Priscilla Lane and Jeffrey Lynn (of “Four Daughters' fume), but Alay Robson. Roland Young and Fay Bainter are luirfi to tiisplace. Genevieve Tobin, as a severaltimes “Reno-vated” young .American woman. is as fascinating and romantic as her lilting name; and lan Hunter, as the father of the daughter (Priscilla Lane), who scoffs at convention mid dares to spend a weekend alone witli tlie man (Jeffrey Lynn) she loves just before he leaves for Europe for two years, is suitably irate and affable as the situation demands.
Fay 8.-iinter. though not given scope for n performance of such powerful dramatics as in- “AVhite Banners.” acquits herself well. She is the mother of Aliss Darling Daughter, and, having hntl a similar experience in her younger years, does all in her power to prevent her from leaving. At last, telling the girl she trusts her—in all homes where there is frictionless union between parents mid children this is so—she allows her to go. (See tlie insqiiration for the title?) But it seems that the youngsters’ weekend, though not entirely stolen,, is going to be taken away from them when the girl's father learns of events. He sets off in his cm- for the weekend camp, followed by Roland Young, a guest of his wife, mid the much-divorced woman in another. The much-divorced woman’s suggestion is (hat Young mid she arrive at the camp first, dispossess the youngsters, ami, when the father arrives, tell him that the whole thing is but a joke. All being well that ends well, such was the weekend camp. But. somehow, the parents. grandmother, the much-divorced woman and Robert Young are not thoroughly satisfied, and they work fora marriage between the youngsters. Their plan does not miscarry—it is made easier with the girl's help. The lovers depart for Europe on the same steamer, and, though not yet married, share the same cabin—witli a licence and the ship’s captain to hand.
