PLUNKET SHIELD TEAM

Wellington Cricketers To Play Otago TWO CHANGES MADE The sole selector, Mr. W. J. R. Christophersen, lias chosen the following team fp represent Wellington against Otago in a Blanket Shield cricket match in Dunedin on February 9, 10, 12, and 13: E. G. McLeod (Hutt), captain, 11. F. Rice (Kilbirnie), O. L. Wrigley (Kilbirnie), E. W. Tiudill (Midland), . Hepburn (Midland), D. S. Wilson (Kilbirnie), V. 11. du Chateau (Wellington College Old Boys). W. F. Airey (Wellington), T. L. Pritchard (Manawatu), J. Ashenden (Kilbirnie), W. G. Rainbird (Wellington College Old Boys'), and G. L. Whyte (Wellington College Old Boys). Of the team which was beaten by Canterbury by an innings at the New Year, J. R. Lnmason and J. A. Ougle.y have been dropped for H. F. Rice, the Kilbirnie club captain, and G. L. Whyte, the Wellington College Old Boys’ slow right-hand spin bowler,' both ot whom have justified their inclusion by good all-round play in club matches. 'The team could have been strengthened by the inclusion of R. Crawford who is a good slip fieldsman, a position in which Wellington showed itself very weak against Auckland ami Canterbury. The match will be for the wooden spoon, as both Wellington and Otago are at the bottom ot flic Plunket Shield ladder this season. The Wellington team will play a match in Ashburton on the way to Dunedin.
