Centennial Good Wishes

Additional messages from overseas congratulating New Zealand on reaching its centenary were read by the Acting-Prime .Minister, .Mr. Fraser, at the State luncheon yesterday in honour of the representatives of the Governments of the United Kingdom and Australia at the New Zealand centennial celebrations.

The Prime Minister of the Irish Free state, Mr. Enmon De Valera, cabled as follows: "Ou the occasion of the celebration of New Zealand centenary I desire to offer you on behalf of the Government and people of Ireland our most cordial congratulations and to express our sincere good wishes for the ever-increasing prosperity and happiness of the people of New Zealand.”

Tile following message was received from the Governor-General of the Union of South Africa, Rt. Hon. Sir Patrick Dunean: “Please receive on behalf of the Government and people of the Union congratulations on this memorable occasion and wishes for continued progress and prosperity.”
