Centennial Yachting Regatta ATHLETICS AT HATAITAI Au outstanding event on the outdoor programme in Wellington today will be the Centennial yachting regatta. Yachts competing will range from the big A class keel yaehts to the 7ft. Taurangas. Races for whalers, both sailing and rowing, have been arranged, and there will be speed-boat races in addition to the sailing events. Amateur Athletics. The Wellington centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association will conduct a handicap meeting at Hataitai Park this afternoon, commencing at 2.30 o’clock. , Wellington Cricket Association. The Wellington Cricket Association will continue its grade championship competitions this afternoon, when the following senior matches will be commenced: — . University v. Wellington. Basin Reserve. No. 2; Midland y. Hutt, Hutt; Institute v. Kilbirnie, Kilibirnie, No. 1; Old Boys v. Karori, Karori, No. 1. Mercantile Cricket League. The Mercantile Cricket League will play trial matches this afternoon at Athletic Park. The games will beA grade v. B grade, C grade v. D and L grades, A colts v. B colts. Hutt Valley Cricket. The Hutt Valley Cricket Association will continue its grade championship competitions this afternoon, when the following A grade matches will be <played ■—Gear v.
