Centennial Yachting Regatta ATHLETICS AT HATAITAI Au outstanding event on the outdoor programme in Wellington today will be the Centennial yachting regatta. Yachts competing will range from the big A class keel yaehts to the 7ft. Taurangas. Races for whalers, both sailing and rowing, have been arranged, and there will be speed-boat races in addition to the sailing events. Amateur Athletics. The Wellington centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association will conduct a handicap meeting at Hataitai Park this afternoon, commencing at 2.30 o’clock. , Wellington Cricket Association. The Wellington Cricket Association will continue its grade championship competitions this afternoon, when the following senior matches will be commenced: — . University v. Wellington. Basin Reserve. No. 2; Midland y. Hutt, Hutt; Institute v. Kilbirnie, Kilibirnie, No. 1; Old Boys v. Karori, Karori, No. 1. Mercantile Cricket League. The Mercantile Cricket League will play trial matches this afternoon at Athletic Park. The games will beA grade v. B grade, C grade v. D and L grades, A colts v. B colts. Hutt Valley Cricket. The Hutt Valley Cricket Association will continue its grade championship competitions this afternoon, when the following A grade matches will be <played ■—Gear v. Eastbourne, North lark, No. 1: Trafalgar Park v. Moera Stop Out, Trafalgar Park. No. 1; Hal vic v. Bell Park, Bell Park; Empire v. Upper Hutt, Uuper Hutt. Women's Cricket. The Wellington Women’s Cricket Association’s fixtures for this afternoon are as follows: —■ , . Senior: Technical Old Girls v. Kilbirnie, Prince of Wales 1; College Old Girls v. Wellington. Prince of Wales 2. Second division: Midland v. II ellington. Prince of Wales 3; Trinity y. Onslow, Nairn Street; College Old Girls v. Technical College, Prince of Wales 4. Baseball. The Wellington Baseball Association will continue its league championship competitions this afternoon, when the tollowing mutches in the International League will be decided Cardinals v. Broadway Demons, Polo No 1 330 ; Ford v. Miramar Aces, Show No 1’ 3.30: Jenkins Gym. v. Webbs, Polo No. 2, 3.30; Giants v. Hutt, Hutt Para No. 1, 3.30. Lawn Tennis. The finals in the New Zealand junior lawn tennis championships will be played at the Miramar courts this afternoon, commencing at 1.30 o'clock. The Wellington Lawn Tennis Association will continue its interclub competitions.
