There were large entries in the handicap events, in which as many as eigut heats had to be swum. _ Several of the competitors were disqualified tor exceeding the standard for the grades, and a few were put out for breaking. the times recorded were better than at carnivals recently, particularly as the water in the Riddiford Baths is on the slow The carnival was efficiently conducted by the officials of the Hutt Valley Swimming Club, with Mr. N.
