DAIRY PRODUCTION
Decline In Auckland
Province
RAIN URGENTLY NEEDED
Dominion Special Service.
AUCKLAND, January 11.
Rain, is urgently needed to arrest a sharp depline in dairy production, which is evident in farming districts throughout the province, as a result of dry weather. The position is not yet regarded as serious, but will develop in magnitude, unless steady rain is experienced within the next week. Production in Waikato is now falling rapidly after the peak had been well maintained into the beginning of January. Most factories in North Auckland have experienced a similar decline, though in. areas where there has been, heavy planting of paspalum the effects have not been so severe.
