Following is the weather report and forecast issued by the Meteorological Office Wellington, for the 24 hours ending 3 p.m. today . For the most part fair to cloudy. Unsettled, however in western and southern areas of the South Island, with occasional rain and a tew seatteied showers a?so in western districts of the North Island. Temperatures Pressure remainshigh in the north, and a series of rapidly-moving westerly Sh of Taranaki and Hawke’s Bay, but moderate to strong elsewhere and rising to gale force at times in exposed positions. _ Seas in New Zealand waters rough about Cook and loveaux Stiait.-, • 'rather rough south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere slight to moderate windq from a westerly quarter in the eastern Tasman Sea, moderate in the northern portion with slight seas, strong to gale force m i southern portion with very rough seas.
