Tennis of a high standard was seen at the second day’s play in the Alanawalu Lawn Tennis Association’s North Island tournament. The outstanding surprise was the defeat of the titleholder, I.’. Hawksworth. by R. McKenzie, a Wellington junior, 1-6. 8-6. 6-4. McKenzie also ■won his game in the boys’ championship section, beating B. Graham (Gisborne) Other close games in the men's singles ■were between Morrison and Charters, and Roach and Livingstone (Waikato).
