Actor Took Soldier Role But Won't Join Army
Sidney desmond tester, young red-haired actor who played the Highland drummer boy with Sabu in the film “The Drum,” appeared as a conscientious objector before one of the tribunals set up in England to hear such cases. He told the tribunal that he objected to entertaining troops or wounded men in hospital; nor would he take part in a propaganda film Sidney Tester has had tjiree or four other film parts.
