GIRAFFE BORN IN SYDNEY ZOO
> Second In Australia A giraffe was torn in Tarongu Park Zoo, Sydney, on November 8. It is the first giraffe to be born in Sydney, and the second in Australia. It was Gft, 4in. in height. Its mother and father, born and 'bred in Tanganyika, are each nearly 18ft. tall. In 1938 Mighty High was born in the Perth Zoo. It was the first giraffe born in captivity in Australia. Two days later it died- Its mother, Mighty, and l its father, High, were inconsolable for several months. The Sydney giraffe, however, is flourishing. Its mother and father arrived in Sydney In November, 1935, from Africa, where they were captured by the famous German zoologist and huntsman, Christopher Schultz. Giraffes are voiceless.
