Manawatu And Dunedin Meetings Today CUP AT AWAPUNI: OTAGO HANDICAP AT WINGATUI Weather Prospects Good: Tracks Will Be Firm As was the case 12 months ago, the racing carnival associated with Christmas'and New Year start earlier this year, and two meetings, Manawatu and Dunedin, will open today. The Dunedin meeting this Christmas is a three-day one, owing to the transfer of one of the October days, which was not used when the club decided that conditions were not favourable to the usual procedure in the spring. Saturday being a very convenient day, and a proved success tor racing clubs, the meetings should get a good start for the second day next Tuesday, when' racing will commence at Auckland and Taranaki, and the Waipukurau and Westland meetings will also be held. For Manawatu the prospects are for fine weather and a firm track.
