Shoot From Fort Dorset

Excellent conditions prevailed yesterday afternoon ami hist night fur a practice shoot carried out from Fort Dorset by the. 2nd Heavy Artillery Group under the command of Lieuten-ant-Colonel D. A. Carty. The Government steamer Janie Seddon towed a target over an area between Baring Head and Palmer Head, providing the fort with practice under realistic conditions, particularly at night, wlien the searchlight batteries were in operation. The night shoot was carried out between 8 o’clock and 10 o'clock. The shooting was favourably commented on by officers.

Further gunnery practice will be carried out this afternoon and tonight.
