The Exhibition—Why Not Open It On Sundays?
Sir, —The above question is probably now being asked all over Wellington. We don’t want the amusement section or cabaret open on Sundays—at least, no reasonable person does —but seeing- that the Art Gallery can be visited on the Sabbath it seems hardly logical to refuse the same privilege to the thousands who would jump at the chance of visiting Rongotai that clay. Surely the -wonderful exhibits in the various courts are every bit as cultural as the pictures in the Art Gallery, while the magnificent grounds, with the band playing decent music, would be an enormous Sunday attraction. From the business and every other point of view, I can see no valid objection to this proposal. Therefore, 1 repeat, not open this unparalleled Exhibition on Sundays?— I am, etc., L. D. AUSTIN. Wellington, November 9. '
